A little breakdown of some of my previous races/training.
Ottawa Marathon 2011:
Finish Time: 4:20.13
Pace: 6:14
I registered for this race almost immediately after finishing the Toronto Goodlife Marathon. Unfortunately I suffered from major ITBand problems during the 1st half of my training and only got 6 weeks of decent training in before the race. I knew going into race day that I wanted to just enjoy the marathon experience and that I did. THroughout the race I had a ton of fun chatting with other runners and simply enjoying the fact that I was running pain FREE! I ended up with a 5 minute PR despite a lack of training so overall it was a pretty awesome experience.
Toronto Goodlife Marathon 2010:
Finish Time: 4:26.33
Pace: 6:19
This was not only my first marathon but it was also the first time I really trained for a race. During training I was working 75-80 hour weeks and looking back I really have no idea how I managed work and training. Training for this race re-lit my love for running and got me hooked on the idea of racing! Unfortunately I had a bad fall at kilometre 26 of the race and ended up with some major road rash. I was able to finish the race but it was definitely the toughest thing I have ever done. Those last 8km were pure torture but I still loved every minute of my first marathon!
